Jungle Crocodile Safari was created by Veterinarian Doctor MARIO FERNANDO ORJUELA CASTRO in  April of 1993. .

Doctor Orjuela specialized in raising crocodiles, boa snakes, iguanas, and toads in captivity.  He was an UICN Crocodile Specialist Group member.  The doctor passed away in 1999, yet the work he dedicated his life to is carried on by his loving wife and two children as well as his family of faithful employees.

The main purpose of  Jungle Crocodile Safari is to share the Tàrcoles river´s remarkable biodiversity with our guests. A university educated and bilingual guide offers orientation about the crocodiles and over fifty different kinds of birds that can be seen on site, including the very rare scarlet macaw and a great variety of resident and migrant waterfowl. Iguanas and Jesus Cristo lizards can also be seen, as well as four different types of mangrove trees. Conservation issues are explained and disscused during the guided tours. The boats have been carefully prepared and the crew proffesionaly trained to cruise the river safely.
